SUNRISE, FL — After pardoning not one but two Thanksgiving turkeys — Bread and Butter —President Donald Trump boarded Air Force One on Tuesday for what was being billed as his "Homecoming Rally" in Sunrise, Florida.
Vice President Mike Pence took the stage first and warmed up the crowd for the president. Throngs of people began forming outside of the BB&T Center hours ahead of the 7 p.m. rally, with some supporters seen sipping expensive champagne.
The president touched on familiar themes and wasted little time going after the impeachment proceedings in the House.

"The radical Democrats are trying to overturn the last election because they know that they cannot win the next election," Trump told the enthusiastic crowd of thousands.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis noted the president's newfound residency in the Sunshine State: "Welcome home to Florida," said DeSantis.

A much smaller number of political opponents also showed up to toast the ongoing impeachment hearings in the House, sans the champagne. Opponents instead brought the Baby Trump Thanksgiving-style balloon.

Tuesday's rally in Florida marked Trump's first visit back to Florida since he announced he was changing his primary residence from New York to Florida.
"We're familiar in Florida with people who try to scam residency in our state," Democrat Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz told reporters ahead of the event. "There's lots of folks who do that. Since the president is good at scams, why should he be any different?"
