Sarasota Teen Charged In Double Shooting
A 16-year-old Sarasota boy has been charged in Sunday's double shooting near the intersection of Carver Street and Orange Avenue.

SARASOTA, FL — A 16-year-old Sarasota boy has been charged in Sunday's double shooting near the intersection of Carver Street and Orange Avenue, Sarasota police said Wednesday.
The teen is facing two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, according to the agency's Genevieve Judge.
Patch is withholding the teenager's name because of his age. He is accused of shooting a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old male.

"Both were transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries but are expected to survive," Judge said. "Within hours, night shift patrol officers identified a possible shooting suspect."
She said investigators from the Criminal Investigation Division interviewed witnesses and canvassed the area before the teenager was charged.

"Detectives learned through their investigation that [the teen] and the two victims were involved in an ongoing dispute," she said. The teen turned himself in on Monday.
