Smoky Junkyard Fire In Miami-Dade

The junkyard fire broke out shortly before 10 a.m. near 84th Ave and NW 74th Street.

MIAMI, FL — Firefighters battled a smoky junkyard fire on Friday morning in northwest Miami-Dade County. The blaze broke out shortly before 10 a.m. near 84th Ave and NW 74th Street. No one was injured.

"Upon arrival, units observed a large column of smoke and multiple vehicles on fire," explained a spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. "Units quickly began to work on knocking down the fire."

A total of seven units responded to the scene.

"Junkyard fires tend to be difficult in nature due to the many possible combustible materials found in burning vehicles," the spokesperson added.

The fire is under investigation.
