1. Genting is planning to accelerate the development of a project at the former Omni. The company will maintain ownership of the acres while selling off the former Miami Herald property. A partial demolition permit was applied for at 1701 Biscayne Blvd. on Nov. 2, according to records. (The Next Miami)

2. A new project called 3333 Biscayne in Edgewater has been approved by the Urban Development Review Board. The planned towers are expected to rise 40 stories and be home to about 635 units, including nine townhomes. (Miami Today)
3. The migrant man wanted in the death of four people and the wounding of a fifth at an Oklahoma marijuana farm has been extradited back to Oklahoma from Florida, authorities said Friday. The man said he was fleeing from the mafia, which allegedly obtained a medical marijuana license in the state, according to media reports. (NBC Miami)
4. A South Florida man pleaded guilty this week to assaulting, resisting, or impeding a law enforcement officer with a dangerous weapon during the Insurrection on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6, 2021, in Washington D.C. Federal prosecutors said the man was part of a violent mob that attempted to harm members of Congress. (WPLG Local 10)
5. A new report has been released suggesting ways to potentially fix the issues with Broward County’s 911 system. The Broward County Commission government is expected to discuss the report’s findings at a meeting next week. (WSVN)
