1. Rent continues to soar in Miami. The Magic City surpassed San Jose, California, as the 4th most expensive city for renters with a remarkable 38.9% increase over March of last year. Los Angeles, San Diego and Oakland, places that have been historically more expensive to live in than Miami are suddenly cheaper. (Time Out)

2. Police have made an arrest after a man was fatally shot outside a Southwest Miami-Dade townhouse complex. 22-year-old Daniel Roche was arrested Thursday and charged with murder in the first degree and tampering with evidence. (WSVN)

3. Friday, the Miami Beach curfew instituted after spring break violence including multiple shootings survived a legal challenge in court. Treehouse Miami and Papi Steak launched the lawsuit against the city. The owner of Treehouse Miami, Michael Freundlich, feels his business is being unnecessarily punished by the city. (NBC Miami)

4. The federal government agency overseeing Trump International in D.C. said an "extensive and exhaustive" review found no problem with Trump Organization's plans to sell to a Miami investment fund led by CGI Merchant Group. Investors include former New York Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez, according to the AP. (WPLG Local 10)

5. The Flagler Street beautification process downtown is on track with its 30-month schedule. There was an interruption in the original plan because buried FP&L cables needed to be manually installed rather than using machinery to avoid damaging pipes and tubes under the street. (Miami Today)
