- The Miami Dolphins suffered a 34-31 loss against the Buffalo Bills in an AFC wild-card matchup on Sunday. The loss has pushed the Dolphins into the offseason. (WSVN)
- A South Florida man was shot and killed at the Giant Market Place in northeast Miami-Dade County at approximately 1 p.m. Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. (WPLG Local 10)
- Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department is partnering with One Tree Planted to plant more than 450 trees at Amelia Earhart Park in 2023. "With the support of wonderful partners like One Tree Planted, Miami-Dade County is progressing to achieve its mission of a 30 percent minimum tree canopy countywide, prioritizing tree equity in our most vulnerable communities," said Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. - Miami-Dade commissioners voted this week in a 9-0 vote to speed up a metrorail connection to the Hard Rock Stadium by increasing funding by $5.5 million. The project includes the construction of eight metro stations and five park-and-rides. The decision comes amid push to boost transit in the Miami-Dade area. (The Next Miami)
- Chef Taek Lee (Taka) will launch his new Chinese concept called Tanka in Miami's Edgewater district on Jan. 25. The restaurant will feature a variety of Chinese cuisines including Cantonese, Szechuan, and Shanghai-style foods. Chef Taka will join Executive Chef Davide D’Agostino for the concept.
