There's plenty to do around Miami this Thanksgiving whether you are looking for a great holiday meal or fun for your out-of-town guests.

MIAMI, FL — The turkeys may not have reason to celebrate Thanksgiving but there's plenty of humans around Miami who beg to differ.

We found some gobble worthy restaurant deals and special holiday events whether you are looking for a hearty meal to boost your stamina ahead of Black Friday or whether you are looking for someplace special to take your out-of-town guests and family over the long holiday weekend.

Miami Dolphins players along with mascot T.D., the Miami Dolphins Women's Organization and staff in collaboration with Feeding South Florida will distribute 500 Thanksgiving meals and turkeys from Publix to local families in the South Florida area on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Purchased through player donations, the traditional meal kits are capable of feeding a household of six to eight people and will consist of a turkey, fresh produce and sides. Feeding South Florida will pre-select the participating families from 50 nonprofit partner agencies throughout Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade-Counties. This event is part of an ongoing series of the #DolphinsHuddlefor100 service projects as part of the NFL’s 100th celebration.

Feeding South Florida

The charity is offering two ways to help others this holiday.

  • Adopt-A-Family Through Nov. 18: For $25, you can provide a Thanksgiving meal box to a family of four. The meal box includes one turkey, fresh produce, sides (boxed mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc.), gravy mix, and dessert mix. For $100, you can ensure four families will enjoy a full Thanksgiving meal. To adopt a family, simply click here. All donations must be received by Monday, Nov. 18. Thanksgiving meal boxes will be distributed to families the week of Thanksgiving.
  • Thanksgiving Food Frenzy Through Nov. 19: This is a friendly competition in which groups host Food and Fund Drives and earn volunteer hours for the chance to win the title of “Ultimate Thanksgiving Hero” in their designated category. Schools, restaurants, law firms, health care companies, financial institutions and all other group are welcome to participate.

Florida Panthers Hockey Holidays Ice Skating Rink

We're known for a number of things in South Florida but outdoor ice skating isn't one of them for obvious reasons. The Florida Panthers and Hoffman’s Chocolates are hoping to change when they unveil the new Hockey Holidays outdoor ice rink for the third year in a row at the Hoffman’s Chocolate Factory in Greenacres on Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. The outdoor holiday rink will officially open to the public on Nov. 16 with hours from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; 5 p.m. to 10 p.m on Saturday and Sunday from. The rink will be closed on Tuesdays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The rink will be open through Dec. 30. The cost is $15 for an individual skate session; $13 for groups of 10 or more; $10 for military and first responders and up to four guests with a valid ID. There's no extra charge for skate rentals. Toscana Divino

The holiday menu features Roasted Turkey, Potato Purée and Brussel Sprouts, Pumpkin Gnocchi and Pumpkin Pie. The base price is $40 per person. There are limited seats left. Celebrate Thanksgiving at Stephen Starr’s Le Zoo in Bal Harbour, Florida, with a menu full of traditional favorites with a French-Mediterranean twist. Step out of the kitchen and into Three Wynwood for Thanksgiving dinner this year featuring a family style feast. Diners will enjoy warm benne seed bread rolls, a winter chicory salad, and calabaza squash soup to start off with. Then for the main course, there will be a spread including slow-cooked turkey breast and turkey leg confit, honey glazed root veggies, farro verde with brussel sprouts, and yukon gold potato gnocchi. Located on iconic Collins Avenue, Fi’lia South Beach is showing its gratitude by offering an unbeatable Thanksgiving dinner to its guests. At $95 for two people, a Butternut Squash Panzanella Salad starts off the meal and follows with a tender braised lamb shank complete with polenta, brussel sprouts and roasted mushrooms. Planta South Beach

Miami Beach’s 100 percent plant-based eatery, Planta South Beach, is giving diners something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Plant-based alternatives to Thanksgiving classics are hard to come by, so Planta has made the holiday a little better for those who subscribe to meatless diets by offering a carry out menu of staple dishes for $35 per person. This carryout menu will include plant-based variations of holiday favorites such as Meatloaf, Candied Sweet Potatoes with toasted marshmallow fluff, Mac and Cheese, Sourdough Stuffing with black bean sausage and Peach Cobbler Streusel. Katsuya Brickell, the restaurant known for its exquisitely prepared Japanese cuisine, is serving up holiday classics with Japanese flair this Thanksgiving. The family-style menu features a selection of meat, fish and vegetables. The cost is $45 per person. Open for its first Thanksgiving, this kitchen and lounge is offering a Latin-Mediterranean inspired prix fixe. The menu curated by chef Fabian Di Paolo features three courses, a choice of appetizer including Butternut Beet soup and a Pomegranate and Persimmon salad. Entrées include slow roasted Thanksgiving Turkey and CVLTVRA Chianti short ribs. You’ll want to save room for dessert with sweet Potato Danish Bread pudding. The Bazaar by Jose Andres at SLS South Beach

At The Bazaar by Jose Andres guests can expect an extravagant Thanksgiving meal Jose's way. Start Thanksgiving by indulging in a traditional Bazaar meal and finishing the night with the restaurant's special supplemental Thanksgiving menu. The menu will include braised turkey roulade with brown gravy, Spanish “migas” with butifarra and parsnip puree, crispy Brussels casserole, homemade biscuits, pumpkin pie and cinnamon smoked marshmallows. Feast on a special, three-course menu inspired by indulgent, southern-style cuisine, as well as an intimate, upscale dining experience for an unforgettable holiday celebration with friends and loved ones. Truluck’s Fort Lauderdale and Miami offer delectable Thanksgiving meal offerings for the whole family. Diners are invited to savor the restaurants’ plentiful menu, including fresh Florida stone crab and other seafood, or opt for a one-night-only, three-course Thanksgiving menu featuring traditional, comforting dishes with a Southern twist. Cecconi’s Miami

Celebrate Thanksgiving with a festive feast, including turkey and all the fixings, prime rib roasts, raw bar with stone crabs, truffled mashed potatoes, veggies, pecan pie, a selection of desserts and more. The feast is priced at $75 per person. The last seating on Thanksgiving is at 4 p.m.

Villa Azur

The restaurant hosts a special edition of its original Thursday night dinner party for Thanksgiving. In addition to the regular a la carte menu, chef specials will include a crispy turkey breast with warm gravy served with cornbread and chorizo stuffing, creamy spinach and sweet potato ($47), as well as a delicately sweet Crème Brulée Cheesecake to top it all off ($16). The Thanksgiving extravaganza welcomes you at the door with costume greeters and continues all day long with live entertainment featuring a saxophonist and DJ. Shooters Waterfront

Fort Lauderdale’s sophisticated Intracoastal staple will celebrate turkey day with an all-you-can-eat buffet for $56 per person. Guests are invited to give thanks with friends and family while taking in spectacular views of the Intracoastal Waterway on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The restaurant’s holiday buffet will feature a carving station with herb-infused roasted turkey, honey-glazed ham and prime rib with au jus alongside a salad bar with tri-color beet salad and a mixed field greens salad. You don’t even have to get out of bed to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at the Mondrian South Beach. Guests will be served a holiday meal prepared by the culinary team in the comfort of their private accommodations. For $55 per person, guests will enjoy a dinner menu that includes Roasted Wild Mushroom and Lentil Soup with truffle oil; a choice of Baby Organic Oak Leaf Salad or Pesto Crusted Diver Scallop for an appetizer; a choice of Roasted Traditional Free-Range Turkey, Duck Breast a l’Orange, or Wild King Salmon for the main course; and a choice of Pumpkin Pie with Fresh Berries or Chocolate Mousse Dome for dessert. The Lincoln Eatery

This Thanksgiving, visit The Lincoln Eatery food hall for a three-course meal by Le Petit Bistrot, French Cafe. The meal includes a creamy butternut squash soup with croutons, a fresh berry spinach salad with Gorgonzola nuts and champagne vinaigrette and a rosemary butter turkey with porcine gravy. The dish is served with a side of mashed potatoes, green beans and garlic sauce. The meal finishes off with pumpkin pie or lemon meringue pie. Pair the dish with a Light My Fire libation from Cocktails, the bar at The Lincoln Eatery. The drink is a combination of 2 ounces of Fireball Whisky, 1 1/2 ounces of Baileys Pumpkin Spice, 3 ounces of pumpkin puree and ice cubes. AQ Chop House by Il Mulino

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants.

For $28.99 (or $12.99 for kids 12 and under), guests can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving style meal with butternut squash soup, slow-roasted turkey with pan gravy, homemade sides topped off with pumpkin praline cheesecake. Pair it with the November Wine of the Month, Gewürztraminer Sauvignon Blanc, for $9 or Cranberry Sangria for $7.50. Guests can enjoy the chef’s recommendation — Roasted Squash Ravioli with Lobster, Shrimp and Scallops in butternut squash, tomato, tarragon, parmesan and lobster sauce for just $26.99. The regular menu will also be available for purchase. Also available for just $39.99, are custom etched Thanksgiving-themed bottles of wine filled with a Bordeaux-style red blend crafted by Cooper’s Hawk winemakers and inspired by the season. This limited-edition wine has aromas of blackberry, raspberry, plum, black licorice, tobacco, vanilla, and baking spices. Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants recently opened its 10th Florida location at The Galleria Mall in August for a total of three Broward County and one in Miami-Dade.

Bird & Bone at The Confidante Miami Beach

Put a contemporary spin on traditional American cuisine with savory dishes in a rustic modern atmosphere that takes taste buds on a journey from the Florida coast to southern countryside. Just in time for fall, Executive Chefs Richard Hales & Corey Crawford have collaborated to curate a new fall menu comprised of dishes with flavorful twists and spins, as well as a Thanksgiving prix fixe menu that the entire family can enjoy for $60 per person.

El Vez

Stephen Starr’s El Vez Fort Lauderdale will offer a Mexican-inspired Thanksgiving menu for $34 per person featuring chili rubbed turkey accompanied by roasted fall veggie & green chili stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean and mushroom casserole and charred jalapeno gravy, as well as pumpkin pie for dessert. Steak 954

This year, Stephen Starr’s Steak 954 offers a Thanksgiving menu full of traditional favorites including Herb Roasted Free Range Turkey with Italian Sausage Stuffing, Sweet Potato Mash and Marshmallows as well as Haricot Verts for $38 per person. Along with a la carte items like a seasonal Roasted Butternut Squash Soup ($12) and various house-made desserts ranging from a Pumpkin Creme Pie ($12) to a Pecan Soufflé ($12). Burlock Coast

The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale hosts a Friendsgiving event on Sunday Nov. 24 at Burlock Coast in Fort Lauderdale. For $69 per person excluding tax and gratuity you can toast with mixologist’s JP Belonni’s holiday-inspired welcome cocktail at a 5 p.m. reception in the Rum Room, followed by a four-course, family-style feast at 6 p.m. while enjoying endless ocean views and great company.
