1. University of Miami's janitorial staff are continuing their stand against unfair labor conditions through Service Employees International Union (SEIU 32 BJ). The staff and UMESA members took to South Dixie Highway on April 12 to demand job vacancies be filled. Several protestors said they are pushing for more student and faculty involvement in these protests to encourage the university to take a strong stance against the treatment of their workers. 2. Davie hosted its annual hippity hoppity spring egg hunt, sponsored by HCA Florida university hospital on Saturday at the Pine Island Park at Bamford Sports Complex. Families enjoyed an egg hunt and activities included a petting farm, train rides and inflatable rides. (WPLG Local 10)
3. The developers of The Wynwood Plaza have signed a deal for water and sewer utilities. Active negotiations are also underway for 75,000 square feet of office space at the project, according to a release by representatives of co-developer Carpe Real Estate Partners. (The Next Miami)
4. Two men and a woman were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition by Miami Fire Rescue after a late night shooting, Miami police said. The three people were found in the area of 1999 Northwest Fifth Place by Town Park Plaza North Condominium complex. (Subscription: Miami Herald)
5. Several teens were rushed to the hospital after feeling ill during a Military Ball for their high school ROTC program. Davie Police and Fire Rescue responded to the Signature Grand on 6900 West State Rd 84 in Davie at around 11 p.m. on Thursday night. (CBS Miami)

- A woman said a thief and two accomplices swiped her wallet on April 3 while she dined at an Outback restaurant in Southwest Miami-Dade. The incident was captured on surveillance video. (WSVN)
- Rep. Matt Willhite is getting closer to retaking first place in a four-way fundraising push for the Palm Beach County Commission seat representing District 6. Willhite raised $54,000 last month and now has $275,000 between his campaign account and political committee, Floridians for Public Safety, as of March 31. (Florida Politics)
