1. A veteran Miami-Dade police officer is out of the hospital after being shot in the head last week. The officer was shot in what was described as a domestic related incident at 1270 West 79th St. The woman who allegedly shot the officer has been identified by authorities as Yessenia Sanchez. 2. False reports of an active shooter at Dolphin Mall on social media caused panic among shoppers in South Florida on Sunday. Sweetwater Police said they received several 911 calls reporting a shooter, but said no shots were fired. (NBC Miami)
3. The Miami Hurricanes suffered a 45-3 loss to the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday night in college football. It was Hurricane's worst lost to the Seminoles since a 47-0 game in 1997. Miami will hit the road next and face Georgia Tech. (Inside The U)
4. A new hotspot is now open in Miami called Wet. It is a "multi-level, underwater kingdom themed" club and restaurant and located on the first floor of the Millecento Building in Brickell. The menu is curated by chef Vural Aydogan and Rex Gryphon. (Eater Miami)
5. FIU’s Construction Trades Program offered by the Moss Department of Construction Management at the College of Engineering and Computing is the first in the nation to launch a Solar Energy Technician Apprenticeship program, according to the university. - A Denver-based real estate investment trust, Air Communities, is paying $471 million for two apartment properties in Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale's Flagler Village. (The Real Deal - Miami)
- A trust linked to rapper Future has paid $16.3 million for a mansion on Miami Beach, according to South Florida Business Journal. The home traded for $12.5 million in 2020, which is also the year the home was built. (Subscription: South Florida Business Journal, Free: Dirt)
