1. The 10-year-old son of a Miami-Dade Corrections officer has tragically passed away after he was shot at Horizons West complex in Northeast Miami-Dade, according to police. Miami-Dade Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said there were no adults home when the gun went off, however four siblings were in the home at the time. (WSVN)
2. Looking for plans for Thanksgiving? Miami Patch has a list up of restaurants open on Thanksgiving in case you are seeking alternative plans to cooking this year. Local options include Carbone Miami, Barton G The Restaurant, Orno, and more. (Miami Patch)
3. The Wharf Miami is celebrating its 5th anniversary all weekend through Nov. 13. Those over age 21 who RSVP in advance can enjoy unlimited free mojitos until 9 p.m. today and until 6 p.m. on Sunday. There will be a number of other festivities in celebration this weekend. (Ocean Drive Magazine)
4. Celebrity chef David Myers is opening a Mediterranean-themed restaurant in Miami called Ma/re at Hotel AKA Brickell. The concept has a spring 2023 planned opening. Ma/re will feature grilled menu items, pasta, an array of vegetable items, and more. (Miami New Times)
5. Black Restaurant Week is happening in South Florida now until Nov. 20. Over 20 local businesses are participating in the event which features African American, African and Caribbean cuisines. World Famous House of Mac is the latest restaurant to join the venture. (WPLG Local 10)
