"Traffic Homicide Investigators determined that she was crossing Old Boynton Road from south to north, just east of Knuth Road, when she was struck by a black 2007 Toyota Tacoma," according to Slater. "She was not walking in the cross walk."
The driver of the Tacoma was identified as 41-year-old Michael Romero, who told investigators that he saw Jean Baptiste on the side of the road in the distance.
