Worker Rescued From Trash Chute Debris In Miami

Miami first responders were called to rescue a man caught in debris from a trash chute.

MIAMI, FL — Miami first responders were called to a construction site Monday afternoon after receiving a report of a person trapped under debris from a trash chute that collapsed. He was subsequently freed by first responders.

"Miami fire rescue technical Rescue Team (TRT) is responding to Oak Avenue and Virginia Street for reports of a person trapped at a construction site," explained Capt. Ignatius Carroll of Miami Fire Rescue.

Local 10 News reported that the male worker was later taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition. He had reportedly gotten caught under debris and scaffolding when the chute collapsed.

"He sustained some very minor injuries but you can imagine he was just happy to get out," Carroll told reporters at the scene.
