To prepare for what could be a surge in spring breakers, Miami Beach will implement:

  • Curfews
  • Bag checks
  • Restricted beach access
  • DUI check points

β€œFlorida may be popular for spring break, but it is inhospitable to criminal activity," DeSantis said in a news release. "Florida does not tolerate lawlessness and chaos. I am directing state law enforcement agencies to provide additional personnel and assets to local entities to ensure that they have the resources they need to keep the peace over spring break."

The FHP said 17 law-enforcement agencies requested the deployment of 140 state troopers to their jurisdictions during spring break. Additionally, the FHP said 24 Quick Response troopers will be sent to Bay, Volusia, Broward and Dade counties for immediate response to incidents.
