This is not an advertisement or paid message, this is just me sharing and informing about a new post Covid culinary experience down in Key West.

While visiting from the east end of Long Island I decided to break away from the usual local dining and try something new and found “Belmare,” up the stairs above Alfonso’s above the piers of Front Street.

Immediately I was struck with a posh, detailed atmosphere so different from most Key West eating joints. I am not going to read off the website www.Belmare.com, but suggest you take a peek.

Their wine selection is broad, affordable with some specialty choices too!

What I will say that everything we ordered had amazing detailed qualities from the homemade mozzarella of the mixed tomatoes caprese to the homemade butter squash ravioli. My home made pasta smothers with a veal based Bolognese sauce was a home run.

The coffee and deserts were all really good. I love key lime pie, but it eels nice to have some other exotic dessert choices.

Then Executive Chef Shane Wilkerson appeared at our table and detailed what made each of choices sensational. Again his attention to proper procedures, best ingredients and then he adds his skills to bring out what the Italians call, “Fantasia!”

If you get the opportunity to sample the cuisine of Belmare you too will be writing one of these glowing posts.
