2-Year-Old Boy Killed After Running In Front Of Truck: FL Highway Patrol

A 2-year-old boy ran in front of and was fatally hit by a truck in Dade City, Florida Highway Patrol said.

DADE CITY, FL — A 2-year-old Dade City boy was killed after running in front of a pick-up truck driving on Hilltop Farms Drive on Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The boy was walking north along the road’s outside shoulder, south of Pindos Drive, with his father around 11:20 a.m. when he darted into the truck’s path and was hit by it, troopers said.

The child was airlifted to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver, a 20-year-old Dade City man, and his passenger, an 18-year-old Wesley Chapel woman, were uninjured in the crash.
