FL Man Killed Kitten During Domestic Dispute: Sheriff
A Spring Hill man stomped on a kitten, killing it, during a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, the Hillsborough County sheriff said.
SPRING HILL, FL — A Spring Hill man was arrested early Saturday morning after killing a kitten during a domestic dispute, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies responded to reports of a battery at a Lightwood Street home around 1:30 a.m.
When they arrived, the victim told deputies that during an argument with her live-in boyfriend, Cayden Lemay, 22, he got physically aggressive and pushed her into a bathroom, the sheriff’s office said.

Lemay then grabbed her 12-week-old kitten, forcibly threw it to the ground, and stomped on it, killing it, she told HCSO.
Animal Services responded to the home and took the dead kitten, which had been adopted from the agency.

Deputies arrested Lemay and charged him with aggravated animal cruelty and domestic battery, the sheriff’s office said.
He was booked into the Hernando County Detention Center, where he was originally held without bond.
After his first court appearance, he was given a $2,000 bond.
