5 Things to Know Today, Sept. 10

1.     Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Otherwise, we’ll see partly sunny skies.

2.      Sunday marks the 10^th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. What are your memories of that day? How are you observing the occasion?

3.     The first annual 9/11 5K Walk/Run benefitting Homes for Our Troops starts at the Gulf Harbors Club House at 7:30 a.m. today. Homes For Our Troops provides specially adapted homes for wounded veterans, most recently working on a three-month build of a home for a Lutz veteran.

4.     There is a 9/11 anniversary service in Sims Park on Sunday, starting at 4 p.m.

5.   Gulf Coast Harley-Davidson, 5817 State Road 54, New Port Richey, is having a Poker Run in remembrance of 9/11. More than 2,500 bikers are expected to show for the run, which starts at 8 a.m and benefits the  Michael Lynch Memorial Foundation and the Special Ops Warrior Foundation.
