A New Port Richey man was arrested Wednesday and charged with child abuse after bruises were found on a 4-year-old girl's face.
In addition to multiple, deep bruises were found on both sides of the girl's face, there was also bruises on the girl's torso, according to a New Port Richey police officer's arrest report.
The man told the officer that he threw a basketball at her several times over two or three hours, according to the arrest report. The offense occurred Oct. 18, according to the report.

Arrested was Shawn Moore, 25. His bail is set at $5,000. The man's relationship to the girl was not disclosed.
