Accused Molester 'Enticed' Boy with Pokémon Cards: Deputies

A New Port Richey man is accused of molesting a young boy over a period of several years.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 31-year-old New Port Richey man faces criminal charges after the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says he engaged in inappropriate relations with a little boy over the course of several years.

According to the agency, Miguel Angel Perez III began having encounters with an 8-year-old boy in June 2014. Those encounters continued until this month, an arrest report states. The boy is now 10.

The victim told deputies Perez would put pornography on the television while he was in the room and then proceed to masturbate. The arrest report also detailed molestation of the boy.

“The defendant enticed the victim by giving him Pokémon cards after the sex act occurred,” the report said. Perez is also accused of telling the boy they would both get arrested if he told his mother.

Perez was brought into custody after a controlled phone call was made on Oct. 13. During that call, deputies say Perez spoke with the victim and admitted to the the inappropriate acts.

Perez was charged with exposing a minor to harmful materials, lewd and lascivious exhibition and lewd and lascivious molestation.
