Authorities Investigating Hit-and-Run in Holiday

Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash in Holiday that resulted in one person being airlifted to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol

According to the Highway Patrol, a pickup truck headed north on U.S. 19 at State Road 54 around 3 p.m. struck the rear end of a 2008 Suzuki SX4 in the center lane of 19.

The driver of the Suzuki, Catherine Bridges, of Holiday, lost control of her vehicle, and it crashed into the rear end of a Toyota Volvo XC90. The Suzuki traveled into the center lane, overturned and came to rest on its in a median.

The pickup driver stopped his vehicle, got out and then got back in and drove away, according to witnesses.

Bridges, 58, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Bayfront Medical Center via Bayflight. The driver of the Volvo, Margorie Fratea, of Hudson, was uninjured, according to the Highway Patrol.

According to the Highway Patrol, witnesses described the pickup as a white or silver Toyota Tundra with an extended cab. The driver was described as a white male, but no other information was available.
