BB&T Bank Robbery Under Investigation

Detectives believe the robbery may have been committed by the same person who robbed another bank last week.

A man suspected of robbing a in New Port Richey on Monday may have also robbed a different bank in the city last week, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Around noon Monday, a man entered the bank at 4807 U.S. 19 and gave the teller a written demand for money. He then fled north of the building on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

Detectives believe the man also robbed a at Marine Parkway and U.S. 19 on Sept. 7.

New Port Richey police responded first to the call Monday and set up a perimeter. Then the Sheriff's Office's forensics, major crimes and K-9 units responded.
