NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A slow-moving brush fire in the Moon Lake area prompted a temporary closing of State Road 52 on Wednesday morning.
According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, the blaze broke out in woods east of the 11400 block of Weldon Street. The fire, officials say, appears to be slow moving and is estimated to only impact about two acres.
The Florida Forest Service is working with the county to extinguish the blaze. That agency has two tractors on the scene.
