Help 'Shoot Hunger' by voting at Canstruction Exhibit

Donations go to the The Volunteer Way's food bank.

A can or box of food, or $1, will buy you a vote for your favorite of the three structures in ’s 4th annual Canstruction exhibit. You’ll also be entered into a raffle for a chance to win Tampa Bay Rays memorabilia.

The Volunteer Way is a faith-based nonprofit based in New Port Richey that runs a food bank and pantry.

The cans and boxes from the sculptures will also go to the nonprofit.

“Everything goes to the food bank,” said Martha O’Brien, assistant chief executive officer for The Volunteer Way.

The Volunteer Way also operates an outreach center in Moon Lake, a brown bag program for seniors and a hydroponic garden, according to its website. It's also raising money for a warehouse and offices in Port Richey.

The Volunteer Way serves clients in Pasco and Hernando Counties and elsewhere, O'Brien said.

The Canstruction competition runs through Friday, Oct. 21, in the lobby of the Center's Main building, 7530 Little Rd, New Port Richey. The sculpture with the most votes wins the "People's Choice Award."
