Coming Home to The Market

Patty Reeves, a Hudson resident, recently took a trip outside the state and came back "jonesing for some Java." So she paid a visit to in New Port Richey at the suggestion of a friend. Check out some of her shots from her trip and return.

We flew out to Seattle, where the air was cold, but the coffee was hot! It's the first thing that greets your nose when you get off the plane. So after a wonderful vacation and a day wandering Pike's Market in downtown Seattle, we flew home. Just got in last night and awoke this morning missing the vast market and selections and seriously Jonesing for some Java! My friend Gallegos, of New Port Richey, is from Portland, surely she would feel my pain!!.. and she messaged me to head down to New Port Richey to the Market Off Main Cafe and Creamery.  

I checked out their Facebook page for the address and saw a post looking for pictures, so I grabbed the snazzy new camera and headed down there. Inside, I found a cure for my Seattle blues: fresh coffee, frappes, cappacino or brewed sun tea.

There's also a produce area with fresh vegetables and on the counter near the register, close to Pike's Market after all...fresh baked bread for sale. I grabbed two loaves of the country white and pizza bread and ordered my lunch. They serve quiche and salad with your choice of dressing for $4.49.

Also on the menu were pierogies, homemade chili, and soups, veggie wraps or turkey and ham, stuffed tomatoes, or hand-dipped ice creams.

What was not on the menues in Seattle was JJ Gandy key lime pie. 

The Market Off Main, "Just a step off Main" at 6241 Lincoln Street, with it's back porch view right on the Cotee River, cafe tables inside or out, and original artworks, reminded me why it's good to be back in Florida.
