DUI Checkpoint on U.S. 19 Tonight

You might want to refuse that offer of beer if you’re getting behind the wheel tonight, Dec. 16.

Law enforcement will be conducting DUI checks while operating out of Southgate Shopping Center, 5127 U.S. 19, New Port Richey, starting at 8 p.m., according to a press release.  

The Florida Highway Patrol, New Port Richey Police Department , Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Dade City Police department and Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary are teaming up for a “targeted”  and “assertive” program to cut down on drinking and driving.

Want to avoid getting pulled over? Assign a designated driver if you’re drinking, avoid distractions or take a taxi.
