Elderly Man Attacked in Holiday Home Invasion Dies
Breaking: The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says an 82-year-old man targeted in a home invasion has died.

HOLIDAY, FL — An elderly Holiday man attacked during a Friday morning home invasion has died, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies announced Robert Walker's death Saturday, Sept. 24. The cause of the 82-year-old's man death is now under investigation.
“We are working with the medical examiner to determine a cause of death and if it is related to the home invasion attack,” an email to media from the agency said.

Walker was sitting on the front porch of his Devonshire Drive home around 2:13 am. Sept. 23 when he was approached by a teenage boy, identified as Alexander Perez by the sheriff's office. Deputies say Perez, 14, hit Walker in the face several times.
“Detectives say Perez then pushed the victim into his house through the front door, and proceeded to the victim’s bedroom, where he continued to batter him,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a Friday email.

Perez is then accused of stealing the man’s wallet and pants. He reportedly left the home on foot. A search for Perez was kicked off shortly after the attack with the sheriff's office turning to the public for help locating the teen. He was brought into custody, facing felony charges, Friday afternoon.
On Friday, deputies said Walker was treated on scene and had suffered only minor injuries.
