Updated (6:35 p.m.): Five Things You Should Know about Today's Weather

Make it through this rainy day

1.  The National Weather Service has canceled its tornado watch for Pasco County.

2. New Port Richey escaped the brunt of the storms Thursday afternoon after a morning of heavy rain. Parts of Oelsner Street, Avery Road and Main Street west of  U.S. 19 were flooded and opened to local traffic only, and tree branches were felled, but the impact was minimal in the city borders.  The Moon Lake area had flooded sections of road today, and a tree fell on a car there yesterday, but nobody was harmed. Central Pasco, and Hillsborough and suffered more damage. 

3. Residents of west Pasco should still take care.  Thunderstorms will continue to be a risk into the night. Check the National Weather Service website for updates (here).

4. Worried about losing power? Progress Energy has a map to help clients track outages in the area. Find it here. As of 4:27 p.m., 718 customers were out of power in Pasco. The company serves 128,000 customers throughout the county.
