
1. It’s the final weekend of Chasco Fiesta 2011, and there is a boatload of events scheduled today. They are:
- 14th Annual Chasco Softball Tournament -Runs through April 3- (Veteran’s Memorial Park and W.H. “Jack” Mitchell Park)
- Suncoast 5K Sprint (Sims Park), 7 a.m. registration and 8 a.m. start
- Cotee River Lions Club Breakfast -Runs through April 3- (Sims Park), 8am-11am both days
- Kayak Races (Pithlachascotee River at James E. Preserve, end of Sims Park), 8:30 a.m. registration and 9:30 a.m. start
- Children’s Pageant (Homewood Suites Hilton, Port Richey), 10am-3pm
- Ferman Chasco Fiesta Boat Parade (Begins in Millers Bayou, Pithlachascotee River), 1 p.m.
- Country Concert (Sims Park Amphitheater), gates open at 5:45 p.m. and show begins at 6 p.m.
- Children’s Hearing Help Fund Chance Drawing to benefit Sertoma Speech & Hearing Foundation, held during the Country Concert (Sims Park Amphitheater), approximately 7 p.m.
2. Can't find parking for the Chasco Fiesta boat parade? Sherry Turansky Stamback is turning the front yard of her white castle house on Washington Street, just south of Massachusetts Ave., into a parking lot to raise funds for the . The yard can host 10-15, and a $5 donaion is requestd.

4. A charity yard sale is being held today to raise funds for The Little Cats' Rescue, Inc., a non-profit organization that rescues and adopts out stray cats and kittens. It will be held 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at 7139 Mitchell Blvd, New Port Richey. Find our list of non-profit and for-profit yard sales .
5. One yard sale not mentioned in our article is the Lifespan Services Relay for Life team's sale to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The sale starts at 8 a.m. at 5207 Trouble Creek Rd, New Port Richey.
