Have Coffee with a Cop in New Port Richey
McDonald's and the Pasco County Sheriff's Office are taking part in National Coffee with a Cop Day.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Friday is national Coffee with a Cop Day. McDonald’s and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office plan to take part, and they're hoping residents will turn out for the free event.
From 9 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7, the sheriff’s office plans to have deputies at the 11367 Ridge Road McDonald’s to meet and greet residents.
“The mission of Coffee with a Cop, which is especially important in society's current climate, is to break down barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve,” McDonalds of Tampa Bay explained in an email to media. “Taking time to meet at a neutral, safe location, like McDonald’s restaurants, provides the opportunity for real conversations about the issues that matter the most to local residents.”

The Tampa Police Department and other law enforcement agencies across the region also plan Coffee with a Cop events Friday.
The Coffee with a Cop initiative is a national event supported by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The event features no agendas or speeches, according to McDonald’s. It simply provides residents a chance to meet the officers who work in their communities.
