Holiday Hit-And-Run: Person, Vehicle of Interest Developed, Troopers Say
Breaking: The Florida Highway Patrol has a person and vehicle of interest developed in a hit-and-run involving a Holiday bicyclist.

HOLIDAY, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol has announced it has developed a person and vehicle of interest in a Sept. 28 hit-and-run that left a Holiday man with serious injuries. According to the agency, family members of the victim, who was riding a bicycle, helped troopers develop a possible suspect in the case.
No further information about the person or vehicle is being released at this time.
The accident in question occurred just before 2 p.m. Sept. 28 along Alternate U.S. 19, north of Flora Avenue. Troopers say a SUV was heading south on Alt. 19 as a bicycle ridden by Elijah R. Daggy, 37, was heading south in a marked bicycle lane.

Troopers say the SUV, for unknown reasons, traveled into the bike lane and struck Daggy. After the collision, troopers say the SUV’s driver kept going southbound.
Daggy suffered serious injuries and was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital for treatment.

Daggy remained hospitalized Monday, the patrol noted in an email to media.
