Longtime Bay Area Educator Teaching New Lessons To New Student Body

Former Pinellas and Hillsborough County teacher and coach Dan Dotter is launching Brightway, The Dotter Agency in Port Richey.

PORT RICHEY, FL — A passion for education has a Pasco County man excited about his next assignment. The former Pinellas and Hillsborough County teacher and coach launched Brightway, The Dotter Agency in Port Richey on Monday.

After more than two decades of instructing thousands of students in the greater Tampa Bay, Dan Dotter will now be educating them and their families on how to prepare for the future through his new insurance franchise on U.S. 19.

“After teaching and coaching students for 22 years, this is a perfect opportunity for me. Being able to help them and others in the Tampa Bay Area be ready for the future just feels like one more lesson,” Dotter said.

To complement his new agency, the former Northeast (Pinellas) High School, Chamberlain (Hillsborough) High School and Hillsborough Virtual (HVK12) educator and coach also holds his real estate license in the state of Florida.

Previously known for leading student-athletes on the soccer and flag football fields of the Bay area, the University of Central Florida alumnus (’99) holds a bachelor of science in English language arts education.

“Like any teacher, there is always this connection with each one of your students,” Dotter said. “It’s a great feeling to know I’ll have a chance to prepare them and our neighbors when it comes to keeping what’s important to them safe.”

Married for 13 years, Dotter and his wife, Kristi, live in Pasco County with their two children, Jack and Savana.
