Lutz Bicyclist In Serious Condition After Being Struck In Hit-And Run

PASCO COUNTY, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking a pickup truck driver who struck a bicyclist on State Road 54 approaching Sunlake Boulevard, and then fled the scene.

At 1:55 a.m. Sunday, the pickup truck was heading west on State Road 54 when it overtook and collided with a bicycle ridden by a 36-year-old Lutz man.

The pickup truck driver left the scene without providing aid to the bicyclist, who was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Based on the vehicle parts found at the scene of the crash, troopers believe the pickup truck is a Ford F-150. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call *FHP or **TIPS.
