
Stephen and Penny Searce, a husband and wife, were identified Monday by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office as the pair killed in an apparent murder-suicide discovered .
Preliminary investigation shows that Stephen Searce, 58, shot and killed his wife, Penny Searce, 48, with a gun and then shot himself. The couple was going through a divorce, according to Pasco Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kevin Doll.
A person close to the family grew worried about Penny when she could not be contacted, according to a media release from the Sheriff's Office. She called the Sheriff's Office, and deputies arrived to do a welfare checkat 7:10 p.m. Sunday at 9502 Paver Court, in the Highlands of Tanglewood East gated community. That's when they discovered the bodies.

No one else is believed to have been at the home during the incident.
