Man Needing ‘Space’ From Roommate Abused 911: Deputies
A New Port Richey man is accused of badgering 911 operations on Sunday to get some 'space' from his roommate. He got a jail cell instead.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 25-year-old New Port Richey man who reportedly wanted a break from his roommate got it courtesy of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. That agency says Anthony Jordan Molina pestered 911 call takers on Sunday night, prompting a deputy to pay a visit to his Westend Avenue home.
According to an arrest report, Molina called 911 three times in less than an hour in “reference to a non-emergency matter.” The sheriff’s office said 911 operators told Molina to call the sheriff’s office’s non-emergency line for help in resolving his issue.
Instead of heeding the instructions, deputies say Molina “cursed out call takers and refused to call the non-emergency line.”

When a deputy knocked on Molina’s door shortly after the alleged cussing out occurred, he reportedly told the officer he had no crime to report and “continued to act belligerently,” the report said. Molina, however, reportedly admitted to ignoring instructions on what number to call for help “and advised he did not care.”
When the deputy asked him why he needed help from the sheriff’s office, “he repeatedly advised he ‘needed space’ from his roommate,” the report added.

The deputy, it seems, was happy to oblige.
Molina was booked into the Pasco County Jail Monday morning on a misdemeanor charge of misuse of the 911 system. He remained there Monday afternoon in lieu of $150 bond, jail records indicate.
It is unclear just what prompted Molina to want space from his roommate.
