Pasco County Cold Weather Shelters Open For 2 Nights
Pasco County residents in need of shelter from the cold will find help available.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — With temperatures throughout the Tampa Bay area expected to reach near freezing over the next few nights, Pasco County has announced plans to open its cold weather shelters Saturday and Sunday nights.
“A front will move through the Pasco County area over the weekend with strong winds, isolated rainfall and temperatures falling into the mid to low 30's Saturday and Sunday night,” the county said in announcing the opening of its shelter. “These conditions will continue through Monday morning and then begin a warming trend.”
Pasco County has one shelter for adult men and women. It is set to open at 6 p.m. both Jan. 7 and Jan. 8. The shelter closes at 7 a.m. Information is as follows:

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Ruskin anticipate Saturday night’s overnight low with wind chills included will drop into the teens to 20s.
