Pasco County Hiring 911 Call Takers
Pasco County Emergency Communications has 19 open 911 call taker positions available.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Tampa Bay area residents who work well under pressure and enjoy helping people may find a job opportunity in Pasco County of interest. The county’s emergency communications department is in need of 19 new 911 call takers.
“When a 911 call is received by Public Safety Communications, an Emergency Communications Officer triages the call using a state-of-the-art computerized dispatch system to ensure an appropriate response to each call for service,” the county explained in an email to media.
Call takers must be good at multitasking, delivering customer service and need to have strong active listening skills, according to the county. Benefits that go along with the job include medical, dental and vision, long- and short-term disability and paid holidays, sick time and vacation time. The salary range is $13.57 to $23.81 an hour, according to the county website.

To make it easier for interested applicants to learn more, Pasco County’s Department of Emergency Services is planning an open house job fair on Aug. 24. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at 8744 Government Drive, Building A., in New Port Richey.
