Pasco Expands Bus Service To Moon Lake Area

A new bus route opens to serve the Moon Lake area on Monday with free rides the entire first week.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — The Pasco County Public Transportation Department is expanding bus service to the Moon Lake area starting Monday, Jan. 23. With two brand new buses meant to serve the area, the county’s new Route 16 will provide free rides during its first week of operation.

“Having access to public transportation is important to the growth of our community,” Kurt Scheible, interim director of PCPT, said in a statement. “Route 16 will provide service to areas that previously had no bus access.”

The new Route 16 will run every hour, serving State Road 52 from Bayonet Point to Moon Lake Road. The route will continue on Ridge Road to the Gulf View Square Mall, according to the county. The route will also offer connections to other PCPT bus routes, enabling riders from the Moon Lake area to travel throughout the county.
