NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 20-year-old Port Richey man has died following a motorcycle accident on Ridge Road Monday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 8:23 a.m., a 21-year-old Port Richey woman was driving a car west on Ridge Road just west of Sterling Lane in the outside lane while the motorcyclist was heading in the same direction in the inside lane.

Troopers said the car changed lanes and collided with the motorcycle, throwing the rider off.

The car overturned but the driver suffered only minor injuries.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he died.
