Star Student: 8th-Grader Ibrahim Goes Above And Beyond To Get Job Done

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from June Jacobson who nominated Ibrahim, an eighth-grader in New Port Richey.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

"He is a very hard worker and very creative. Also, an overachiever and a great problem solver for his age. Everyone knows him for his great attitude towards life and was voted for many things in the yearbook, like 'most likely to succeed.'

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

"Even when times are rough and he is feeling down, he always makes sure that everyone around him is in great spirits."

Ibrahim was also nominated by Brendan Felts for the "star student" honor.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

"He is an outstanding academic. He goes above and beyond with presentations, projects and representation of his school. All of his teachers choose him to represent the model student."

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

"That he is capable of anything he sets his mind to, and has amazing potential."

And, finally, Ibrahim was nominated by his brother, Mohamad Karzon.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

"Ibrahim has been setting goals consistently and achieving all of them. From getting out of his extensive reading, to taking a risk and doing a Pasco County Students Speak Show, representing his entire school."

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

"Ibrahim hasn’t always been a perfect student and had a lot of issues involving his early academic career."
