Victim ID Released In Fatal U.S. 19 Crash
More details have been released in a fatal pedestrian crash that claimed the life of a Port Richey woman.

PORT RICHEY, FL — As the Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate a fatal Monday crash that claimed the life of a Port Richey woman, more details have been released.
According to the agency, the pedestrian who was killed was Rhonda-Ann P. Grzyb, 47. Troopers say a 2015 Chevrolet pickup driven by Larry Caswell, 54, of Port Richey was heading south in U.S. 19’s center lane around 1:45 a.m. Jan. 2. As Caswell approached Ridge Road under a green traffic signal, Grzyb crossed his path, a patrol report said.
Grzyb was walking across U.S. 19, north of the intersection. She was not in a crosswalk, the report noted.

Grzyb was struck by Caswell’s truck and suffered fatal injuries, the patrol said. She died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation with charges pending the outcome. Troopers say it is unknown at this time if alcohol played a role in the crash.
