Watch: Donald Trump Rally in Panama City, Florida
Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump took the stage in Panama City Tuesday night.
PANAMA CITY, FL — Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took the stage in Panama City Tuesday night hoping to regain some of the momentum his campaign has lost in recent weeks. The New York businessman had been running neck-and-neck with Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton in national polls, but he now faces a deficit following two debates and a fresh scandal.
Clinton was up by 6.5 percentage points Tuesday in national polls, according to the RealClear Politics national average. A national poll released Monday by NBC and the Wall Street Journal gave Clinton a sizable 14 percent lead over Trump.
With the Nov. 8 election drawing ever closer, scandals have been flying fast and furious related to both candidates. Trump took a beating in the polls following the release of a video that shows him making lewd comments about women. Clinton has also faced controversy following a release of what are purported to be excerpts from her Wall Street speeches. One email related to the Wikileaks release reportedly noted Clinton saying, “you need to have a private and public position on policy.”

The release of the Trump video has also caused him to lose the support of many Republican Party leaders. House Speaker Paul Ryan, for example, has said he can no longer defend Trump and his antics. Trump fired back on Twitter to blast the congressman.

Meanwhile, Clinton’s campaign is also on the ground in Florida. The Democrat had a Tuesday afternoon appearance in Miami with former Vice President Al Gore. Former President Bill Clinton is made three stops on behalf of his wife’s campaign on Tuesday, as well. One of those stops brought Bill Clinton to Safety Harbor.
