Weekend Through a Lens: Music and Motoring at Cotee River Bike Fest

The 7th Annual Cotee River Bike Fest kicked off Friday evening. The event began with live music on two stages, including performances on the Sims Park Stage by Odyssey Road (Journey Tribute) and the Main Street Stage featuring local musical acts. Car parking is available at Missouri between Lincoln St. and Grand Blvd., Main Street and Nebraska Ave., and Pennyslvania Ave. at Indiana Ave. in downtown New Port Richey. Handicap parking is at Bank Street and Main Street.
A No Alcohol Playground is behind the Hacienda Hotel.
Vendors are located throughout the downtown area.
Vendors are open from 5 PM to 10 PM Friday, 9 AM to 10 PM Saturday, and 9 AM to 4 PM on Sunday.
Patty also took shots of the "October Art Harvest Exhibit" at Progress Energy Art Gallery.
The Open Reception began Friday evening and extends through October 29th at the Gallery, 6231 Grand Boulevard in downtown New Port Richey.
The wine and cheese reception was sponsored by Sweetbay Supermarkets on Massachusetts Ave. in New Port Richey. The art includes student artwork from Gulf High School, art students of teacher Lisa Barrus, as well as contributions from area artists in digital photography, paintings, mixed media, clay, textile and jewelry. In addition, there is an extended gallery exhibit at Hilton Homewood Suites, 11115 U.S. 19 in Port Richey. (727) 848-6500. www.nprgallery.com
Saturday Bike Fest Schedule
The Full Throttle All Harley Bike Show will be in Sims Park with registration beginning at 10 a.m. with the award ceremony beginning at 4 p.m.
Main Street Stage:
DFA Band, 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
Circle Sky, 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
China Grove, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.
Sims Park Stage:
Highway to Hell, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Greg Billings Band, 8 p.m.-10:00 PM
Motorman Rider's Skill Show will occur at the Bank Street parking lot 11-11:30 a.m., 2 p.m.-2:30 p.m., and 5 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
Contests:
Main Street Stage: Buffalo Wings Eating Contest, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Sims Park Stage: A Slice of Life Pizza Eating Contest, 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
