Yesterday, I received a call from Spectrum's promotions Dept saying they could take $50 off my current bill. I was happy to hear that since my bill went up $50.
Being the cautious person that I am, as I was answering his basic questions, I thought why is he doing this Spectrum already has this. When he asked for my phone number I knew it was a cold call. I gave him the run-around for a bit, then he asked for debit card number. That it would pay for next month's bill and then the cycle would be restarted. I said ain't going happen, then his supervisor came on, and said, OK well take your social security number. I said ain't going to happen either.
While this was going on I called Spectrum. Told them about the $50 dollars, and the asking for my debit card and social security number.

She said THIS IS A SCAM !! Spectrum doesn't have a Promotions Dept. Tell me you didn't give them that info. I told her I didn't and then told the promotions guy I had called Spectrum and wasn't interested in his scam. He told me to 'Go to Hell' and hung up.
ANYWAY, BE AWARE.
