Boil Water Notice Set For Pebble Creek

The boil water notice for the New Tampa neighborhood will follow a water outage for repairs.

TAMPA, FL – Residents in one New Tampa neighborhood have been warned to boil water after repairs are made this week to a water main.

Hillsborough County water customers in Pebble Creek, which is north of the Hunters Green subdivision, will be without water service between midnight and 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26.

The service interruption has been scheduled so Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department crews can repair a leaking fitting on a 12-inch water main in the 8900 block of Regents Park Drive, located just east of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. The outage is expected to impact approximately 2,000 homes and businesses in Pebble Creek.

Hillsborough County has advised residents in the affected area to boil their water when service is restored as a precautionary measure until the county cancels the order, which typically takes 48 hours. The county also advised the affected residents to turn off their irrigation timers and avoid watering yards until the county issues the rescission order.

The county’s Health Department requires a precautionary boil water notice after pressure in the lines drop below a certain level, although it is unlikely there is any contamination in the system, according to Hillsborough County.
