Simple Mistake Leads to Car Burglary in Garage
Here's how to avoid becoming the next victim.

Tampa Police say keeping your garage door closed is important, and a New Tampa family learned that lesson the hard way this week.
The family parked their two vehicles in their garage in the 15900 block of Layton Court Tuesday, according to police. They left their garage door open and their vehicles unlocked for a few hours that evening.
That was enough time for someone to go through their vehicles and take a purse, a briefcase and GPS units, police said.

“Please help us get the message to citizens out there,” said Lisa Timmer, the Tampa Police Department’s neighborhood affairs liaison. “Keep your garage doors closed and always lock your vehicle. If at all possible, do not leave valuables like purses and briefcases in your vehicle.”
