'The 13' Evils Set to Take Over Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream

Howl-O-Scream Starts This Weekend

Busch Gardens Tampa will be overgrown with dark, sinister, adult-targeted fun when Howl-O-Scream begins this weekend. The theme this year is “The 13” Evils, and Patch will get a special “Scream Cam” sneak peak Thursday, Sept. 26. Opening weekend is Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28. Then, Howl-O-Scream runs Thursday through Saturday nights, Oct. 3-5, 10-12, 17-19 and 24-26. Operating hours are 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. You can buy tickets on the Busch Gardens Tampa Howl-O-Scream website and check out last year’s Scream Cam experience on Temple Terrace Patch.

Want to see “The Wizard of Oz” on the big screen instead of television? Check out local AMC theaters for a limited-run showing of the flick in 3D on IMAX screens. Guavaween Around the Corner

Here’s one to put on your calendar. The Ybor City Chamber of Commerce is playing host to the 28th Guavaween celebration Oct. 26. The scaled-back version of the event includes a costume contest and other festivities, but runs again this year without the infamous night parade. Visit the chamber online for more details about the more family friendly version of the annual Halloween bash.
