1. The Milk District is seeking local artists to design sculpture for new Orlando pocket park. Those interested must submit their proposals by Monday, October 17. A final decision for those selected can be expected by the end of 2022. (Click Orlando)

2. Mark your calendars. Universal Orlando has announced their holiday season plans that will run from Saturday, November 12 to Sunday, January 1. The announcement comes ahead of the fall season with Halloween Horror Nights ahead. More details are planned in the weeks ahead. (Florida Politics)

3. Orlando International Airport workers are continuing to fight for better pay and benefits. They claim their pay, which averages $12 an hour, is not enough to cover rising rent costs in Central Florida. Workers lack basic benefits including paid sick leave and healthcare, according to a new survey released by the 32BJ Service Employees International Union. (Orlando Weekly)

4. Isaac Aviles, 19, of Orlando is a victim of rental fraud, a scam where someone poses online as the landlord for a property and tricks the victim into paying them until the real owners appear. Aviles sent hundreds of dollars before realizing something was wrong and was forced to vacate the premises. Aviles made his connection through a phone number on a Zillow listing. 5. Orange County detectives announced a 30-year-old cold case arrest on Wednesday morning. According to detectives, in April, Ronald Cates confessed to the August 10, 1992 killing of John Stagner. His confession was recorded and he is being extradited to Florida. (Click Orlando)
