1. The 10th Annual Science of Wine at the Orlando Science Center is happening April 23 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests will have more than 150 fine wines from the world’s most important wine regions as well as favorite foods options from Central Florida. (Orlando Weekly)
2. Daytona Beach police are searching for a 12-year-old boy who has gone missing for the third time this year. Eleaser Johnson was last seen around 10 p.m. Wednesday leaving his house on North Wild Olive Avenue wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and sneakers with a black, white and gray color scheme, according to police. Johnson is around 5 feet tall. (Orlando Patch)
3. A woman was shot early Friday at a hotel in Orlando’s tourist district, according to sheriff’s officials. The shooting was reported at 1:40 a.m. at the Clarion Inn at 8444 International Drive. The victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and is in stable condition, deputies said. (Click Orlando)
4. The Apopka City Center unveiled the next piece of its plan, a Winn Dixie Supermarket on Main Street. Southeastern Grocers, the parent company and home of Winn-Dixie grocery stores hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at its future store location - 611 East Main Street on Thursday. (The Apopka Voice)
5. Terrell Buckley is expected to be hired as head coach of the new XFL Orlando franchise. Buckley was a two-year starter and three-year letterman at Florida State (1989–91), and left as the school's all-time leader in interceptions and interception return yards. (XFL Newsroom)
