1. Cool off this summer with the mobile shaved-ice franchise Kona Ice truck in Orlando's Vista Park. Franchisees Jessica and Jerome Godette's Vista Park Kona truck joins Kona Ice routes already in place in Central and Northwest Orlando. (Orlando Weekly)
2. Black Theatre Girl Magic will host its second annual Juneteenth Celebration on Sunday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Orlando Repertory Theatre to commemorate Emancipation Day. Reservations are required to attend. (Bungalower)
3. The electric discharge from an Osceola County deputy firing his Taser caused a fire that injured three deputies and caused another man to be burned on more than 75% of his body, according to a report completed by the state fire marshal this week. The report says Osceola County deputies were in a vehicle pursuit attempting to stop a man on a dirt bike prior to the fire on Feb. 27 at a Wawa in Orange County located at John Young and Central Florida parkways. 4. As soon as Monday, the Florida Department of Transportation is set to open its longest section of the Wekiva Parkway. The section stretches more than six miles on the new, elevated roadway. Drivers can enter or exit State Road 429 near Camp Challenge Road in Lake County and also via ramps west of Longwood Markham Road in Seminole County. (Click Orlando)
5. Two Valencia College students have been named recipients of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's prestigious Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. The highly competitive national scholarship will provide Leah Basaria and Miranda Rublaitus with up to $55,000 a year to complete their bachelor's degrees. (Valencia College)
