Here are the top five stories today in Orlando:
1. More than 140,000 fans shattered attendance records and celebrated a weekend of all things fandom at MegaCon Orlando 2022. The fan convention brought a star-studded celebrity line-up, cosplay encounters, endless programming and more. MegaCon Orlando 2023 will take place March 30 to April 2, 2023. (Orlando Patch)
2. Orlando Police are investigating after two men were shot near the Parramore neighborhood on Wednesday morning. According to authorities, officers responded to the area of Mcfall Avenue just after 4 a.m. Police say two men in their 40s shot at each other. (Fox 35 Orlando)
3. Foxtail Coffee Co. is planning yet another location in the Orlando area. The Winter Park-based coffeeshop chain is building out a roughly 1,500-square-foot leased space at 3122 E Colonial Drive. (Subscription: Orlando Business Journal)
4. The Hollywood Plaza garage, located near the intersection of International Drive and Sand Lake Blvd. in Orlando will soon be home to a new Walt Disney World store and a huge video display that wraps around the parking garage. 5. Kyle Becker announced his foray into the special election for Seat No. 3 on the Apopka City Commission on Wednesday. Becker joins Wes Dumey, Lynetta Johnson, and Eric Mock in the race. Becker previously lost a bid for Apopka Mayor and served in City Commissioner Seat No. 4. (The Apopka Voice)
